7th Grade Religion Assignments

Confirmation Information:

 

Please fill out the attached form and return to Ms. Kothe ASAP.

 

Confirmation Rehearsal is on Monday, June 3rd at 6:30 PM, but please plan to attend the 5:30 daily Mass and then stay for the rehearsal. If possible, please have your sponsor attend. If this is not possible, one parent should attend this rehearsal. You may wear your uniform or school appropriate clothing.  

 

Confirmation is on Sunday, June 9th from 2:30-4:00. Pictures will take place from around 4:00-4:30. Reservations and dinner plans are best made for around 5:00.  

For Confirmation, candidates should be dressed in their “Sunday best.” There is no need to wear all white. Students will wear a robe during the ceremony. Boys should wear dress pants and a shirt and tie; no blazer is needed. Girls can wear a school appropriate dress or a skirt/nice pants and a blouse. Please no high heels.  

Community Service Reflection Paper due. See attached for details.

Please complete the worksheet entitled "Getting to know Mary" that was assigned in class. You can use a Bible you have at home or go to this website (bible.oremus.org) to find the Bible verses. 

Quiz on Tuesday 12/18 on Advent notes, liturgical calendar(know the Church seasons and the liturgical color that corresponds to each season), and the two pictures of the Annunciation we went over in class. You should know what biblical story these pictures are illustrating, be able to pick out at least three symbols in the images and be able to compare and contrast the pictures.

Please write out a full definition for each term (include information about the word’s origin if it was covered in class). Complete these homework assignments in your religion notebook in a section dedicated to vocabulary. You should be able to find the definitions for each word from your class notes or handouts; if you cannot find the answer in your classwork then look up the word in a dictionary or online. Most definitions will be at least two-three complete sentences; only a few terms can be defined completely in one sentence.

Quarter 1 Test on all material covered up to October 30th. All PowerPoints are uploaded to the class webpage. Two exam review sheets will be handed out to help you study for the test. Exam Review sheet #1 is attached as of 10/17/2018. Exam Review sheet #2 will be passed out on 10/26/2018. Please let me know if you have questions.

 

You can receive up to 10 points of extra credit by creating a study guide for both of the exam review sheets. I will check the study guides on Nov. 1st.  

 

"Finding the Corporal Works of Mercy in the World"

Reminder that students should be working on their "Finding the Corporal Works of Mercy" HW assignment. Due Tuesday Oct. 30th. 

 

Students should also be studying for their test on Nov. 6th. Powerpoints are on the class page.
