How We Work
At SBS, the Parents Association exists to connect, empower, and support our vibrant parent community. We’re organized into volunteer committees that plan events, fundraisers, and initiatives designed to enrich school life for every student. Throughout the year, families are invited to participate in ways that fit their interests and schedules—whether by co-chairing a committee, serving as a Class Parent, lending a hand at an event, or contributing your expertise behind the scenes.
Your involvement benefits every child at SBS and strengthens the bonds of our school family. It’s also a great way to meet other parents, collaborate with teachers and administrators, and have a meaningful voice in PA activities. Parent volunteers make it all happen—from our biggest fundraisers to our smallest gestures of gratitude. We’re always eager for your ideas, energy, and talents. However you choose to participate, you’ll be helping create a warm, inclusive, and memorable experience for all SBS students and families.
SBS Parents Association Committees
Executive Team
The PA Executive Team is led by two Co-Presidents, a Treasurer, and a Secretary. This group coordinates the work of all PA committees and Class Parents in partnership with school leadership.
Kid-A-Thon
Kid-A-Thon is our signature fall fundraiser and school-wide community celebration. This committee handles every aspect—from planning stations and activities to rallying volunteers and partnering with local businesses—so that students, staff, and families can enjoy a morning of sponsored fitness and fun.
Spring Gala & Auction
Our largest annual fundraiser, the Spring Gala & Auction, is an adult-only evening of celebration featuring a live auction, online bidding, food, music, and more. This committee oversees theme selection, planning, and execution of both the online auction and the gala itself.
Special Events
This team plans beloved school traditions and enrichments, such as the Halloween Party, Christmas Party, Santa visits, and Field Day support.
Teacher Appreciation
Dedicated to celebrating our incredible faculty and staff, this committee organizes monthly gestures—snack tables, coffee mornings, Valentine treats—and leads our activities during National Teacher Appreciation Week in May.
Community Events
Focused on family connections and service, this committee organizes social events such as Bingo Night, Paint Night, and the Ice Skating Social, and builds relationships with neighborhood businesses for discounts or small-scale fundraisers.
Uniform & Bake Sales
The PA hosts three sales of gently used uniforms each year to benefit families and raise funds, along with bake sales tied to Kid-A-Thon and the Spring Gala & Auction.
New for 2025–2026:
This year we’re expanding our outreach. These new committees will support cultural events, arts initiatives, and partnerships between SBS, our parish, and the broader community.
Friends of the Arts
This committee actively champions the Visual and Performing Arts faculty. We secure essential volunteers, donations, and resources required to organize and execute impactful arts events and service initiatives.
Church & School Connection
This committee is dedicated to sustaining and deepening the vital partnership between the school and church. We achieve this by coordinating and supporting essential community service projects, such as Food Drives, Coat Drives, and Soup Kitchen initiatives.
